The Blues are closing in on a deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona ahead of tonights 11pm deadline while a deal has been agreed with Juventus to take Denis Zakaria on loan for the season.

Chelsea are understood to have negotiated an option to buy the midfielder from Juve next summer after being left frustrated in their attempts to sign Edson Alvarez from Ajax for 43m.

Rafael Leao and Arsen Zakharyan also quickly emerged as potential options but transfers for those players look unlikely ahead of the deadline.

Meanwhile, Marcos Alonso continues to be linked with a move to Barcelona with the full-back set to swap places with Aubameyang.

Hakim Ziyech is edging nearer to an exit, with AC Milan and Ajax the namely suitors. Manchester United were once credited with interest in the Moroccan too.

With all that being said, sit back, relax and follow todaysfootball.londonblog on deadline day so you dont miss a second of any of the latest Chelsea transfer rumours, news or post-match updates throughout the day.

Chelsea have completed the transfer deadline day signing of Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria on a season-long loan from Juventus. The Blues have confirmed they have an option to sign the Switzerland international permanently for what is believed to be a fee in the region of 30million.

Zakaria emerged as aChelseatarget early this afternoon after the Blues were unable to convince Ajax to sell Mexican international Edson Alvarez. The 24-year-old was understood to be keen on a late move to Stamford Bridge but given the Dutch transfer window closed last night, Ajax were not prepared to sanction his departure.

A loan move for Zakaria was more straightforward. He joinedJuventusin January from Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach but struggled to remain fit. He leaves Juventus for Chelsea, having made just 15 first-team appearances during his eight months with the club.

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona on a two-year contract.football.londonunderstands. The Blues have agreed a fee worth around 12million for the forward with Marcos Alonso set be announced by the La Liga giants on a free transfer on Friday morning.

After several weeks of talks with Barcelona over a deal for the 33-year-old striker, Chelsea finally came to an agreement over a convoluted deal that involved Alonso. Aubameyang arrived in London in the final hours of deadline day to undergo a medical and sign his contract, which is understood to be a two-year deal with a further 12 months triggered by certain conditions.

The move reunites Thomas with the striker; the two spent a successful period working with each other at Borussia Dortmund. Aubameyang played arguably the best football of his career under Tuchel and the Chelsea head coach believes the former Gabon international still has so much to offer.

The Premier League has been handed four deal sheets ahead of prospective summer deals being completed on transfer deadline day.

The sheets allow clubs to complete the signing of players even if it hasnt been completed, giving an additional two hours until 01:00 AM on Friday, September 2 to finalise the moves.

with deals agreed for bothPierre-Emerick AubameyangandDenis Zakaria, both of which are expected to be amongst the four deal sheets announced by the league.

Chelsea fans will now be more aware than ever that a deal to sign a player can progress quickly after the Blues went from being in talks with Denis Zakaria to having agreed a deal for the midfielder and a medical being done in Italy.

The Juventus player rapidly emerged as the most likely choice to become Thomas Tuchels newest defensive midfielder. He was the second important piece of deadline day business done by Chelsea after a deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was agreed earlier in the day.

It serves as some of the final actions of Todd Boehlys first transfer window, a spell in which he has overseen a large overhaul of the squad - though there still remain long-term issues to sort out. With sanctions, a new ownership and lots to sort out this summer, Boehly has done more than his fair share of work.

Chelsea are continuing to focus their efforts across the pitch in the final hours of the summer transfer window.

The Blues have already had a busy transfer deadline day, first agreeing a deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang involving Marcos Alonso going the other way, before later coming to another deal to bring in Dennis Zakaria to the club on a season-long loan.

The two moves had been expected to be the last despite talk of Memphis Depay remaining an option for Thomas Tuchel and another late window alternative has come about.

Chelsea dont just have hopes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang being a stop-gap that will see them through this season. The 33-year-old has been the key target for Thomas Tuchel for a while now as he not only looks for a source of Premier League proven goals but also a flexible forward that will allow Armando Broja to play his fair share of minutes too this season.

Its a specific set of requirements and one that Aubameyang fits well, plus he has a very good understanding of Tuchel and his methods having worked brilliantly for the German at Borussia Dortmund. That wont last long as a reason to be excited by his signing though, especially if he doesnt hit the ground running.

Tuchel has put a lot of stock in this deal working out for him. Not only to prove that his attacking coaching is up to standard but also that players can thrive in his system when the manager has a team and a group that he sees as more of his own. Thats a lot of pressure on Aubameyang.

Timo Werner, Emerson,Romelu Lukaku, Malang Sarr, Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Matt Miazga, Jake Clarke-Salter, Levi Colwill, Charly Musonda Jr, Dujon Sterling, Baba Rahman, Ross Barkley, Ethan Ampadu, Danny Drinkwater and Marcos Alonso andCallum Hudson-Odoi.

Those are the list of players who have leftChelseaeither permanently, on loan, or ended their contracts with the club at the time of writing.

This group could still be added to by the time you read this. Billy Gilmour is reportedly close to a deadline day transfer move to Brighton for 9m, whilst the likes of Michy Batshuayi have still not found a new destination despite an expectation he would depart.

Chelsea are still pursuing a couple of transfers on deadline day, with Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez near the top of the list.

Wednesday night sawChelsea submit a 43m bid for Ajaxs Alvarez.football.londonunderstandsthat the Mexico international has been tracked by the Blues for some time. The Dutch side are yet to respond to the bid, butAlvarez has failed to show up to training in an effort to force a move.

Chelseahave been busy this summer, with the signing of Leicester City defender WesleyFofanathe seventh incoming of the window. As well as Alvarez, Chelsea are stillchasing the signature of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyangfrom Barcelona.

With another record breaking transfer window for English clubs, deals keep flooding in with many transfers set to take place before the 11pm deadline tonight.

However, sometimes there are aspects of a transfer negotiation which do not quite get completed before the deadline, with some deals often getting across the line as late as 1am.

At this point, the deal sheet is crucial as the key piece of paperwork which can be submitted up until 11pm. As long as a deal sheet is sent in to the relevant governing bodies before the deadline, deals can still go through after the cut-off.

Chelsea are now entering the realms of panic buying. Its a stage they didnt want to get to on deadline day, but with a deal for Edson Alvarez looking tough to complete due to Ajaxs stern stance and Ibrahim Sangare also being unattainable, the latest option has emerged.

With the centre of midfield being a key area to add at least one extra body in before the end of the window, Todd Boehly has been given a massive task to find a good fit for Thomas Tuchels squad whilst also ensuring that players arent purchased for the sake of it.

Its a position that has ruminated due to the long-term neglect of signing new midfielders and has only come to the attention of the management due to a host of first team injuries early on in the season. Now, with hours left to make additions, Chelsea are in a race against time.

Sky Sports are reporting that Aubameyang will be landing in London shortly.
